DescriptionTo work together to improve the quality of life for persons with autism and pervasive developmental disorders and their families and to ensure that those with these disorders live with dignity within their own communities * Aims & Objectives: To advocate on behalf of all people with autism/PDD and their families * To promote public and professional awareness and understanding of autism and pervasive developmental disorders * To provide information and support to individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, their families and professionals * To monitor and encourage appropriate government legislation to benefit people with autism/PDD and their families * To act as a liaison between parents, service providers, and government * To promote diagnostic, education, and treatment programs for people with autism * To promote research into the causes and treatment of autism
