Description & Services
DescriptionBlock parents display a nationally recognized sign in the window of their home/business assuring people of all ages-children and adults-that they have a "safe" place to go for assistance when in distress. The Block Parent sign is only displayed when immediate assistance is available and the Business Programs operate only during normal business hours. This program works closely with the Chatham-Kent Police Services, Government Departments, Educators and various volunteer organizations.

Block Parent Communities now exist in many towns and villages within Chatham-Kent eg Wallaceburg, Pain Court, Ridgetown, Blenheim, Shrewsbury, Chatham and Tilbury. Activities include Photo/Finger print clinics; Youth Volunteer Expo (annual event); Community Parades; school and group presentations (Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, Service Clubs) We are a proud member agency of the United Way of Chatham-Kent, Kent Association of Volunteer Coordinators of Ontario and are involved with many community groups eg WISH Centre, East Side Pride, Racing Against Drugs.
