| Description | "Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicted to changing the world; one child and one community at a time." We assist with community service and children * Main annual events - Santa Claus Parade, 4-H Banquet, Teddy Bear Picnic, Robarts Golf Tournament, Trivia Quiz Nights, Downhill Derby * Club's Board of Directors and Executive meet monthly to address each request for financial assistance on it's own merit, requests for funding must be submitted in writing complete with all pertinent details of the funding request; must be addressed to the attention of the Board of Directors Affiliated with Key Club and Kiwanis International The Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown is proud of our over 60 years of service to our community and beyond. Our many service projects include: •Donation of library books to the four Ridgetown schools •Sponsorship of the summer reading program at the library •Organizing the Santa Claus parade •Organizing the Teddy Bear picinic held each year in support of the Children's Hospital of Western Ontario •Organizing the Downhill Derby held each year •Support of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance •Support of local youth sports programmes •Support of the Eastern Canada and Caribbean District HIV/AIDS project •Highway clean up •Stewards of the wood lot adjacent to the golf course •Scholarships for Ridgetown District High School graduates •Elemenatary School graduation awards Our commitment to young people is epitomized by our Service Leadership Programmes.
