DescriptionA teaching facility that has been established in the Municipality of Chatham-kent for school aged children. The focus involves various safety environments including traffic, street, pedestrian, fire, personal, home safety, railway, playgrounds, school bus, water, first aid and other related safety programs.  
 
The goal of the Chatham-Kent Children's Safety Village is to reduce the number of injuries and deaths among children in our area. To foster positive lifetime relationships between children, emergency services personnel and the community.  
 
To ensure that the Chatham-Kent Children's Safety Village is open to all children in the Municipality and continues to offer state of the art safety lessons by safety professionals. The Chatham-Kent Children's Safety Village provides a resource centre for other community organizations and other safety related events. 
 
The Safety Village is open to Chatham-Kent elementary schools to participate in interactive, life-saving programs preventing deaths, injuries and disabilities for children of Chatham-Kent. 
 
Grade 1 program offered mid-Oct to end of Nov each year (includes police, fire and water safety programs specific to Chatham-Kent 
Grade 6 progran offered mid-Jan to the end of Feb each year (includes farm, police and first aid safety programs specific to Chatham-Kent. 
Grade 4 program offered mid-April to the end of May each year (Police, fire and hydro safety programs specific to Chatham-Kent)
HoursMonday through Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
EligibilityAges: 4 year(s) - 13 year(s)
ApplicationPrograms must be booked by teachers in Grades 1, 4 and 6.
