| Description | The Kids' Circle program provides supportive care to children and teens 4 to 18 who are facing a life-threatening illness themselves, the life-threatening illness of a loved one, or experiencing the loss of a loved one * The loved one may be anyone that the child or teen felt close to and the death may be as the result of a life-threatening illness, an accidental death, a sudden death or a suicide death * The main focus of the program is to provide one-to-one support for children and adolescents who are facing these types of struggles as well as providing support to these children through their parents or primary caregivers * This support can be delivered in a variety of settings including the home, school, hospital as well as supportive care sessions offered at the VON Chatham-Kent branch.* There is also a comprehensive lending library with materials available on living with life-threatening illness as well as experiencing death and the grieving process * Community Educational Workshops are also held as well as Community Presentations are offered upon request | |||
