Museums
Welcome to Rock Glen Conversation Area, a 27-hectare area of scenic, historic and geological significance. Some of the fossil resources, which were deposited during the Devonian geological period (between 345 and 395 million years ago), can be viewed in the Arkona Lions Museum and Information Centre. A meltwater from a retreating glacier formed the Rock Glen Creek and Ausable River about thirteen thousand years ago, thus exposing and washing out many different types of fossils. Outdoor Canada 98 listed us in their top 25 of places that are family-friendly to visit for those who are budget conscience.
