| Description | Helps individuals find sustainable employment * assessment of skills, capabilities, interests and experience * job search strategies, resume preparation * interview skills * information about different careers and occupations, the local labour market, employment and training opportunities * support in maintaining employment * guidance in navigating Employment Ontario programs and services, Second Careers * provide access to a variety of programs for students, youth and adults including incentives to hire and support for apprenticeships * assist in providing information and referrals to other community support services Incorporates services previously provided through Job Connect, Employment Assistance Services (EAS), Employment Resource Centres and other programs * Summer Jobs Service program remains separate for the time being Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW) for those 50 to 64 years who are unemployed and lack skills needed to find a new job * broad range of training and supports * assists in finding new jobs by matching skills and experience with the needs of local employers wanting to hire Summer Jobs Service - Free job-search and self-marketing support to help students find summer jobs * $2-per-hour-per-student hiring incentive available for eligible Ontario employers to create summer job placements * contact this local Employment Ontario Summer Jobs Service agency, call the toll-free Employment Ontario hotline at 1-800-387-5656 (TTY 1-866-533-6339), or visit www.ontario.ca/summerjobs Services provided by Elgin/St Thomas Youth Employment Counselling Centre (YECC) in partnership with Fanshawe College | |||
