DescriptionEducation programs for people who have become involved with the criminal justice system

Provides a range of practical services designed to inform and help clients with the criminal justice system, courtroom procedures and community integration, with a view to preventing similar problems from occurring again * services include family court support on request, assistance with release preparation plans and re-establishment into the community and links to community resources * visiting program for inmates of the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre

Court Office - Offers both practical and spiritual assistance to the accused and their families, witness, courts and those working in the courts * serves as a communication link and information service by offering moral/spiritual support, cell visits, arranging bail, transportation, looking after personal affairs and making referrals to accommodation or treatment centres * visits the court cells each morning to assist those arrested each night

Addiction Education Program - Education/motivation program for men and women referred by probation and parole officers * provides opportunities to learn basic information about the effects of alcohol and drugs in people’s lives and to personalize the information * group will also present information about treatment options and how to access them * although most participants are referred by probation officers, there is generally space for others who are interested

Positive Livestyle ProgramPositive Lifestyle Program - Program for men and women which offers individual and group support and practical services for persons at risk of becoming involved with or have been involved with the criminal justice system * program consists of ten workshops adapted from the Life Skills Program designed to help individuals learn about themselves and develop their capacities to replace negative forces in their lives with positive ones * program also offered on a weekly basis at Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre
