| Description | Rehabilitation services to help patients recover as much function as possible and reintegrate into the community Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Program (CORP) - Short-term adult outpatient program for patients recovering from stroke and/or neurological (patients with complex medical and /or surgical conditions may also be considered) * patient and team set realistic goals based on treatment needs, check progress regularly thereafter * at discharge help arrange assistance from other community services PossAbilities - Assistive Technologies - Assessment service for individuals whose functional independence would be enhanced by high-technology assistive devices (e.g. environmental control systems, computer access, etc.) Other health services at Parkwood accessed directly or as part of a program above include: Acquired Brain Injury Program - Comprised of several components, each contributing to a seamless continuum of rehabilitation care for people with acquired brain injuries Amputee Rehabilitation - Designed to fit individuals who have lost a lower limb with an artificial limb (prosthesis) and train and educate them in its use Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation - Rehabilitation for those with complex musculoskeletal problems requiring an inpatient, interdisciplinary approach Neurobehavioural Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) - Serves participants with an acquired brain injury and behaviour problems including: NeuroTrauma Rehabilitation (NTR) - Client-directed approach to Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) rehabilitation Spinal Cord Injury - For individuals who have had a spinal cord injury Stroke/Neurological Rehabilitation - For individuals who have had a stroke or other neurological condition that would benefit from the expertise of an interdisciplinary team to achieve their rehabilitation potential Services and Programs: | |||
