DescriptionThe Navy League focuses on three key programs: 
 
Maritime Affairs 
Concerned with the prosperity of Canada’s agricultural, industrial, and business sectors, in generating economic expansion as facilitated by good marine transportation, maritime safety and protection, and trade facilities, as well as contributing to the assurance that we Canada will always have a relevant and sustainable Navy. 
 
Royal Canadian Sea Cadets 
Youth program delivered in partnership with the Department of National Defence. The program provides opportunities and challenges, development of leadership skills, good citizenship and physical fitness. 
 
Sea Cadets get to participate in a great variety of activities including: 
* Boating & Sailing 
* Swimming & Watersports 
* Camping 
* Citizenship (Parades, Community Events) 
* Marksmanship & Biathlon 
* Sports & Fitness 
* Naval Knowledge 
* Leadership Training 
* Local, Regional & National Competitions 
 
Navy League Cadets 
Program is designed to offer activities that are both fun and educational. 
 
Navy League Cadets get to participate in a great variety of activities including: 
* learn about boating and water safety 
* go camping 
* participate in parades and community events 
* play sports 
* learn knot tying, communications and other seamanship skills 
* go on citizenship tours and other trips 
* some corps even offer a music program 
 
NOTE: While the programs introduce cadets to what the Navy is all about, Cadets are not members of the Canadian Forces and are free to leave the program at any time. There is absolutely no expectation to join the armed forces upon completion of the cadet programs.

Navy League Cadets 
Complete an Application for Membership, and bring it with a copy of the child's Birth Certificate and Provincial Health Card to the closest cadet corps 
 
Sea Cadets 
First make contact with the closest Local Cadet Corps and request to attend the next meeting. You will be asked to fill out an Application for Membership and an Authorization for Collection of Personal Information. You will also be asked to provide proof of age, and provincial heath coverage. More information on how to apply can be found on the Canada National Defence Depatment Site
