DescriptionHelps Ontarians find sustainable employment * assessment of skills, capabilities, interests and experience * job search strategies, including resume preparation * information about different careers and occupations, the local labour market, employment and training opportunities * on-the-job training and/or work experience and, wage incentives for skills training in the workplace * information about all Employment Ontario programs and services * access to Second Career program to provide laid-off workers with skills training for high-demand occupations * information about, and referral to, other community services and supports

Incorporates services previously provided through, Employment Assistance Services (EAS), Employment Resource Centres and other programs * Summer Jobs Service program remains separate for the time being

GECDSB offers a series of courses that are especially designed for adults who have not completed their high school education. Instruction focuses on reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. Additional course in the technical area focus on the food preparatory industry with work placements at the Unemployment Centre. All Credits are applied towards an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
HoursMon-Fri: 8:30 am-4:30 pm
EligibilitySelf-service information and resources -- anyone, including people with jobs, those who are under-employed, people looking for work, students, apprentices, internationally trained individuals, employers 
 
Assisted services (such as supported job search, job matching and placement, job retention services) -- people who are unemployed and out of school 
 
Services for employers include: identification of Human Resource skill requirements, job match, wage incentives, on the job training plans and ongoing monitoring.

Assessment required. Please call for an appointment. Assessment requires current transcript and an appointment with a counselor is required to register.
