| Description | Helps Ontarians find sustainable employment * assessment of skills, capabilities, interests and experience * job search strategies, including resume preparation * information about different careers and occupations, the local labour market, employment and training opportunities * on-the-job training and/or work experience and, in some cases, additional support to help maintain employment * information about all Employment Ontario programs and services * access to Second Career program to provide laid-off workers with skills training for high-demand occupations * information about, and referral to, other community services and supports Also provides Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW) for those 55 to 64 years (exceptions allowed for those 50 - 54 yrs of age or over 64) who are legally entitled to work in Canada, and lack skills needed to find a new job * broad range of training and supports * assists in finding new jobs by matching skills and experience with the needs of local employers wanting to hire | |||

| Eligibility | Self-service information and resources -- anyone, including people with jobs, those who are under-employed, people looking for work, students, apprentices, internationally trained individuals, employers Assisted services (such as supported job search, job matching and placement, job retention services) -- people who are unemployed (or working less than 20 hrs per week)and out of school Targeted Initiative for Older Workers TIOW 55 to 64 years (exceptions allowed for those 50 - 54 yrs of age or over 64)) who out of work or working less than an average of 20 hours per week), legally entitled to work in Canada, and lack skills needed to find a new job Second Career - provides laid-off workers with skills training to help them find jobs in high-demand occupations in Ontario Job Matching, Placement and Incentives - Employers can get help in identifying their human resource skill requirements, matching of position/workplace needs to participants’ skills, capabilities, interests and experience, and support for developing on-the-job training plans and monitoring of placements to support success and retention | |||
