Windsor Resettlement Assistance Program (WRAP) Government Assisted Refugees only Better Access to Services in the Community (BASIC) Open to Government Assisted Refugees Other Services (Not Funded by CIC) Newcomer Settlement Program (NSP) Information and referral * assistance filling out government forms * Commissioner of oaths for original documents * supportive counselling, problem solving * settlement and orientation for immigrants and refugees * Open to individuals who are Refugee Claimants, Convention Refugees, Permanent Residents, Canadian Citizen not born in Canada, Minister’s Permit Holder, or a person who received permission to remain in Canada for the purpose of becoming a Permanent Resident. Translations and Interpretation * Open to everyone Translation of official documents, brochures, pamphlets, flyers and other materials, translated at service rate at $35 plus HST per document (200 words and under), affidavits are provided with every document. Interpretation Services provided by provincially certified interpreter at a service rate of $35 HST per hour (2 hours minimum and rates may vary). Translation and Interpretation Services are available in more than 50 languages and dialects. Language Interpreter Certificate Program: In partnership with St. Clair College, a training program for individuals who are fluent in 2 or more languages to obtain the training and credentials to become an International Language Interpreter. Multicultural Health Nurse Practitioner Clinic: Mon-Wed: at the East End site, 7761 Tecumseh Rd E Thu-Fri: at the downtown site, 245 Jeanette Ave * Open to any client of the Multicultural Council who does not have a family doctor, regardless of age or gender. Health Access Day: is held annually, every April to provide newcomers and immigrants with information on how to access health and social services * The Multicultural Council is the lead organization of a partnership group called Community Partners of Multicultural Health. | |||
