DescriptionThe Centre is involved in obtaining special allowances for veterans and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces for military service * war attendants, and/or dependants may be entitled to specific pensions * similar awards for death or disability are available to persons who served in the Second World War in certain types of civilian employment * employment must have been closely associated with the war effort such as service in the Merchant Marine or the Auxiliary Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police-RCMP, former prisoners of war, evaders, escapees and their dependants may receive compensation

EligibilityVeterans of the Canadian Forces High-seas Merchant Navy veterans of the 1st or 2nd World War or the Korean War Current or former members of the Regular or Reserve Force or Royal Canadian Mounted Police who suffer from a service-related medical condition
Allied veterans of the 1st or 2nd World War who meet domicile requirements
