| Description | The Centre is involved in obtaining special allowances for veterans and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces for military service * war attendants, and/or dependants may be entitled to specific pensions * similar awards for death or disability are available to persons who served in the Second World War in certain types of civilian employment * employment must have been closely associated with the war effort such as service in the Merchant Marine or the Auxiliary Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police-RCMP, former prisoners of war, evaders, escapees and their dependants may receive compensation | |||
