DescriptionOntario Works * provides financial assistance and employment supports including training and skills development, academic upgrading and work placements * services include:

Financial Assistance a monthly allowance based on family size, housing costs and income, monthly drug benefit card

Employment Start-Up Benefit covers costs related to starting a job or work placement

Families with Children newborn child allowance, child care start-up costs, basic dental care for children

Health-Related Benefits may include dentures, emergency dental services, eyeglasses, special diet allowance, health care supplies, medical transportation funds, prosthetic devices, funerals and burials

Learning, Earning and Parenting (LEAP) offered to eligible young parents * Click Here for more details

EligibilityAges: 18 year(s) and up Youth and adults 18 yrs and over in financial need, and employable

Youth 16-17 yrs in financial need who cannot live at home but are attending school or seeking employment; financial need is determined by a review of income, liquid assets and living expenses; Must have trustee

Learning, Earning and Parenting (LEAP) * parents 16-21 yrs - cases include parents 21 years and younger who do not have their grade 12

Employment Resource Centre open to all
