|Description (Service)||(Ontario Works) Employment and Social Services provides temporary income and employment supports to those in financial need. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for families and individuals, to provide opportunities for learning, growth and promote self-sufficiency.
Beginning Sept 2016 people receiving social s\assistance can use their Ontario Health Card to access the Ontario Drug Benefit.
(Ontario Works) Employment and Social Services also offers programs to assist businesses, the local economy, community agencies and non-profit groups. These programs include:
- Community Placement - volunteers are placed with non-profit organizations to gain valuable work skills to assist them in re-entering the work force
- Employment Placement - provides financial assistance to employers to provide on the job and formal training for Ontario Works recipients.
- Construction Course - together with Goodwill Career Centre - on site Construction Training
- Staff is trained in motivational interviewing

Tilbury Service Centre - 17 Superior St June 29 & 30 9 am-4pm, July 4 Employment & Social Services 435 Grand Ave W Chatham 8:30 am-4:30 pm (for those living in Coatsworth, Merlin, Tilbury & Wheatley).
Ridgetown Service Centre - 45 Main St E June 29 & 30, July 4 Employment & Social Services 435 Grand Ave W Chatham 8:30 am- 4:30 pm (for those living in Bothwell, Duart, Highgate, Morpeth, Muirkirk, Ridgetown). Wallaceburg Service Centre 786 Dufferin Ave June 29 & 30 9 am-4pm, July 4 Employment & Social Services 435 Grand Ave W 8:30 am-4:30 pm (for those living in Tupperville & Wallaceburg).
