Description (Service) The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit focus is on the health and well-being of the whole community. Programs and services are focused primarily in 4 domains: Social Determinants of Health; Healthy Behaviours: Healthy Communities; and Population health Assessment. 
Public Health is about promoting health, preventing disease and improving mental and social well-being and quality of life for the entire community.

CLINIC SERVICES LOCATION:  
*Control of TB, *Vaccine Preventable Disease and Vaccine Education Program, *Cold Chain Inspections, *Flu Campaign, *Communicable Disease follow-up, *Infectious diseases, (Travel Health clinic by appointment only - 1-888-426-6165) 
 
Sexual Health programs and services in Chatham and outreach sites in Wallaceburg, Blenheim, Tilbury and Ridgetown are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL and include: 
*-Birth Control information - low cost birth control, condoms 
*-Emergency Contraceptive pills - (morning after pill, PlanB) 
*-Pregnancy testing with options counseling 
*-STI testing and treatment 
*-HIV and Blood borne infection testing - (anonymous HIV testing available at Chatham site) 
*-Counseling - Healthy relationships, decision making and more 
*-Educational resources and speakers available by request to community groups and schools. 
Access to services provided by Registered Nurses at all sites (Doctor clinics at Chatham site only) 
Some walk-in services available, appointments may be required, please call for more information 
 
*-Dental - Healthy Smiles Ontario is a government-funded dental program that provides free preventive, routine, and emergency dental services for children and youth 17 years old and under from low-income households. 
The program includes regular visits to a licensed dental provider and covers the costs of treatment including: 
• check-ups 
• cleaning 
• fillings (for a cavity) 
• x-rays 
• scaling  
• tooth extraction 
• urgent or emergency dental care (including treatment of a child’s toothache or tooth pain)
