Description and Service Details
Description (Service) The MS Society Mission Statement is to find a cure for multiple sclerosis and to enable people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life * The Chatham-Kent MS Chapter supports MS patients and contributes funds for MS approved research; It is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and the main fund raising activities are the annual MS Walk in April and bingos every month * Upon request our Client Services Coordinator will make home visits to provide information, support and referral for the person with MS and family members * Equipment from storage is available on loan, with the recommendation of an Occupational Therapist * Funding assistance may be available for that portion of MS related equipment not covered by government programs or personal insurance * Funding is also available for special assistance services such as house cleaning and respite care. Horseback riding in the summer is available * Support groups are available in Chatham-Kent as well as caregiver support.* Education is offered to anyone upon request.
