Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Provides services to deaf, deafened and hard of hearing individuals helping them enhance independence. Encourage services for the prevention of hearing loss.  
 
Services include:  
* Services to seniors 55+ years with an acquired hearing loss  
* Coping skills, communication strategies 
* Home visits to provide information and counselling on issues related to coping with hearing loss such as: managing difficult listening situations, understanding hearing loss, selecting specialized communication equipment (telephones, alarm clocks, television accessories, etc.), referrals to other community services  
* Employment services to ensure workplace accessibility for deaf, deafened and hard of hearing employees  
* Marketing communications distributes unbiased information about hearing loss and its prevention through publications 
* Ontario Interpreter Services provided for a variety of settings including medical, legal, employment, business, social services, education and government-related  
* Personal counselling and guidance
