Description (Service) Provides public health programs, services, information and support for parents and families before pregnancy, during pregnancy, after baby is born and until children start school

Services include information and support, home visits, assessment and screening, group sessions and telephone support * services also provided to health care providers, licensed child care centres, and community service providers * website with information and resources on many topics

Blind Low Vision Early Intervention Program - Specialized family-centred services for children who are diagnosed as being blind or having low vision

Breastfeeding Support - Variety of breastfeeding supports available:

Health Connection - Telephone Information and Support - Direct telephone line to public health nurses

Healthy Babies Healthy Children - Home visiting program

Healthy Start Infant Drop-Ins - Public health nurses provide support and answer questions about breastfeeding, infant feeding and nutrition, safety, child development, community support, adjustment to parenthood, parenting, and more for families with infants from birth to 6 months

Infant Hearing Program - Southwest Region - Hearing screening for all newborn infants in the hospital or in the community

iParent - Website with information about everyday parenting concerns, parenting styles, growth and development of children and parenting groups and classes * videos and interactive tools

Nurse-Family Partnership - Home visiting program for pregnant young women expecting their first child

Prenatal Health Education - Online e-learning education program, information, and resources for pregnant individuals and their support * visit

Preparing for Parenthood - In-person group session * one session offered to pregnant individuals and their supports * focus on transition to parenthood, changes in roles and relationship, mental wellness, and time management

Smart Start for Babies - Prenatal nutrition and support program for pregnant women and teens and their partner or support
