|Description (Service)||John McGivney Children's Centre is a pediatric rehabilitation/treatment facility for persons 0 – 21 years of age with physical, developmental and neurological challenges including;
* gross motor, fine motor and communication delays
* coordination difficulties
* spina bifida
* cerebral palsy
* juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
* muscular dystrophy
* down syndrome
* genetic conditions
* cleft lip and palate and other facial differences.
JMCC: also sees children youth with a variety of other conditions including orthopedic conditions such as;
* club foot
* toe walking
* hip dysplasia etc.
* Speech, occupational and physiotherapy
* Family services
* Seating and Mobility Clinic
* Augmentative Communication
* Cleft Lip and Palate/Craniofacial Dental Program
* Orthopedic Clinic.
Clinicians are able to fully assess the unique challenges of each individual, and are authorized to prescribe assistive devices such as;
* and augmentative communication devices under (ADP), the Assistive Devices Program of OHIP.
Clinicians are also able prescribe and assist to obtain funding for other assistive devices such as toilet and bath seats and home and vehicle modifications for JMCC clients.
JMCC: has an onsite licensed childcare program (18 months to 6 years) and an onsite elementary school.
JMCC partners with other agencies to provide services in the home and community including CCAC School Health Support Program, CCAC home therapy program, Preschool Speech and Language Program, Autism Intervention Program (TVCC) and others.
Clients do no pay for therapy services. Eligibility criteria apply
