Description and Service Details
Description (Service) Find Location for: EarlyON Child and Family Centers
As of January 1, 2018, all child and family programs (Ontario Early Years Centres, Parenting and Family Literacy Centres, Child Care Resource Centres, Better Beginnings, Better Futures) funded by the Ministry of Education were integrated into one cohesive system called EarlyON Child and Family Centres.
EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer free drop-in programs for children up to six years of and their parents/ caregivers. These centres are intended to support all children, parents and caregivers in learning growing and connecting – together.
These programs provide opportunities for all children to participate in play and inquiry-based programs, and support all parents and caregivers in their roles. Parents and caregivers also have access to information about child development and specialized services as needed.
The Ministry of Education works with municipalities, school boards, community partners, parents and caregivers throughout this transition process to enhance programs and minimize service disruptions for children and families.
Mandatory core services provides parents, caregivers and families with the opportunity to participate in three areas:
1) Engaging parents and caregivers;
2) Supporting early learning and development; and
3) Making connections to other family services.
In January 2018, the Ministry of Education launched the new website for child and family programs across Ontario.
* Realizing that parents and caregivers rely on internet resources for information about programs and services, this change allows us to consolidate information for the public in one easy-to-access location.
* This new website provides parents and caregivers with a single online resource to find information about child and family programs funded by the Ministry
Hours Centres are open a minimum of 20 hours per week in the morning. (Hours vary from location to location, call for details)
