Description (Service) | DAP is an adult diversion program with the Ontario Court of Justice and offered through St. Leonard's House Windsor and the Crown Attorney's Office. DAP is an alternative to prosecution for eligible adults who have been charged with minor criminal offences. DAP is designed to hold accused persons accountable for their criminal actions through assigned community-based sanctions. Following successful completion of the DAP sanctions the referred charge will be withdrawn from the court. DAP is structured to include any combination of the following community-based sanctions which are assigned by the CJW and Crown Attorney's office. * Letter of apology/reflection addressed to the victim * Restitution - payment to victim for loss and/or damages to property * Charitable Donation * Community service hours * Referral to a specialized MAG crime prevention program * Referral to a deemed appropriate community resource program * Peace Bond (when appropriate) |
