Description and Service Details
Description (Service) CPAC is Canada's largest independent, not-for-profit charitable organization serving people affected by pain, through education, information, support advocacy. Their mission is to prevent and relieve unnecessary pain and to improve the quality of life and daily function of people who suffer from pain through education and awareness. 
 
Provides information on living with chronic pain (including fibromyalgia) 
* offers coping skills for family members to better understand and accept the change in lifestyle associated with chronic pain  
* works with professionals to create change within medical teaching facilities in the area of pain treatment and pain management  
* informs appropriate governmental agencies about the need for health change in this area of medicine  
* does NOT provide referrals to physicians 
 
*CPAC's services and programs include: their website; a nationwide support group network; patient access to information, services and patient education brochures.
